The Price They Paid.  Read about the fates of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence.  Eight of the signers were born in Britain.  One signer actually recanted.  Richard Stockton, a lawyer in Princeton, New Jersey, became the only signer of the Declaration of Independence to recant his support of the revolution.  The consequences Stockton feared were realized by him and many of the signers.  Torture, imprisonment of themselves and their entire families are common to the majority.  Read More
