Telling the truth should come easy to us, but for some it is not so easy. “The Truth Will Set You Free” is not just a saying that you find in colleges, or in self-help groups, according to gotquestions.org it is a biblical passage, John 8:32. It goes on to state that, “Jesus provides the best commentary for His own statement in verse 34. Jesus explains, ‘Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.’ Being a slave to sin is the ultimate bondage. So, to tell a lie is a sin, to hold on to it, is a sin, and it will wear at you. But once you can be truthful, once you can let the sin go, you will be set free. Whether you are religious or not, that is powerful. And in my line of work, it is important, in many ways. We all have to be responsible for our own truths in life, hold yourself accountable, and let go of any lies, they do not serve you.
